The Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons)
Overview
The Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) programme aims to produce knowledgeable scholars who are ethical, capable and competent in accounting. They are foreseen to be able to contribute to national development, society, and humanity as a whole. These scholars will be able to generate enthusiasm in knowledge and be committed to business in general and the accounting profession in particular.
They will also possess leadership qualities, act as a catalyst for change as well as be receptive in performing their duties in various sectors and the market environment. The programme also enables students to become professional accounting practitioners who are recognized by professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) Australia, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Therefore, students who have completed the Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) programme in UNIMAS will have exemption on the followings:
ACCA | 8 papers at Fundamentals level |
ICAEW | All papers at Certificate level and 1 paper at Professional level |
CPA Australia | All papers at Foundation level |
CIMA | 4 papers at Certificate level and 2 papers at Operational level |
MICPA | 3 papers at Professional stage |
Accountants are highly regarded in the business world. Many accountants go on to have very diverse careers, becoming CEOs, CFOs, entrepreneurs and so much more. It is important that an accountant be an all-rounded professional, equipped with technical knowledge and possess the right soft skills necessary to succeed in the industry. Being a professional sets the accountant apart as one who leads, innovates, value-adds and is a trustworthy source of knowledge and advice.
Programme Duration
The B.Acc programme is a full-time programme over a minimum duration of 4 years, which is equivalent to 8 semesters of study with a maximum period of study in 7 years

Facilities and Resources
The faculty has air-conditioned theater hall and lecture rooms for classes, as well as computer labs equipped with relevant hard- and soft-wares for practical purposes.
Dedicated and experienced Professors, Associate Professors and Senior Lecturers in business, finance, accounting, marketing, management, economics and etc are facilitating courses in this program.

- Anybody that is motivated to pursue accounting programme to become professional accounting practitioners and further studies in our exempted professional papers.
Entry Requirements
For local students, at least CGPA 2.50 Matrikulasi/Asasi or at least CGPA 2.50 STPM with Grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any two (2) subjects (not including Pengajian Am) and
- Obtained at least Grade C during SPM in Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics subject and
- Obtained at least Grade E during SPM for the English Language subject and
- Obtained at least Band 2 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
- For international students, a minimum IELTS Score of 5.5 or its equivalent (e.g TOEFL-525; TOEFL Computer Test -196; TOEFL Internet Test 69-70)
- And Other equivalent qualifications approved by the Senate
