About UNIMAS Business School
UNIMAS Business School (UBS) registered under the company name UNIMAS Edu Sdn Bhd (UESB), is wholly owned by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Established in April 2017, it signifies the company’s key focus in undertaking academic business transactions and collaborations with strategic partners across the country and beyond; with both private and public entities, in response to the new landscape of globalized education to meet learning needs and goals.
Located in UNIMAS City Campus, downtown Kuching, away from the main campus in Kota Samarahan, UBS offers students an alternative venue for lectures and training sessions. UBS offers two main types of learning programmes: academic mainstream programmes, mobility programmes and lifelong learning programmes which include professional and executive programmes and short courses to upskill, reskill and multiskill the diverse workforce of today. To date, UBS has pioneered various commercial academic and professional programmes in line with the demands and needs of the industries. In addition, some programmes are offered via flexible modes of instructional delivery in UNIMAS Learning Centres: Miri, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur and also in UNIMAS Sibu Campus to meet the demands of working professionals and adult learners.
UBS is not resting on its laurels at its success, growing from being an affiliated entity within UNIMAS into a private company capable of managing academic and professional programmes seamlessly; with the enhanced confidence of quality assurance synonymous with public higher education institutions. In essence, UBS epitomizes the synergy of both public and private entities in assembling the best of both worlds. UBS is spreading its wings in collaboration with offshore partners to establish joint programmes such as the Postgraduate Coaching Programme by capitalizing on the strengths and niche areas within UNIMAS to establish a strong and visible presence within the region and across borders.
