The Bachelor of Finance (Hons)

Overview

The Bachelor of Finance (Hons) programme aims to produce professionals with analytical thinking; who are able to work in groups and have the constant desire to compete internationally in the fields of finance and business. The courses will provide theoretical and practical understanding of finance and business, in which focus is given to theories related to financial systems and instruments, operations, corporate structure and control, funding sources, competitions, strategic management, and investment mechanism at national and international levels. In addition, this program will also equip students with an understanding on international financial institutions operations, international business agreements, and behaviour of corporations including transnational and multinationals corporations. The programme prepares our graduates with knowledge and practical skills in the area of finance; uphold their professionalism and demonstrate leadership qualities within their organization and society; professionally provides innovative and effective solutions; and exhibit entrepreneurial and managerial skills as well as practice continual development through lifelong learning.

Programme Duration

The Bachelor of Finance programme is a full-time programme over a minimum duration of 3 years, which is equivalent to 6 semesters of study with a maximum period of study in 6 years

Course Fees

The full fee for this programme is RM 39,000 for Malaysian student and RM45,000 for International student. The fee is to be paid in six (6) semesters. Students will have to pay further administrative fees and recurring fees if they extend their studies.

Students are entitled to apply for PTPTN at only 1% interest rate to cover the course fees. Alternatively, they can apply other external scholarship or education loan for undergraduate programme.

Facilities and Resources

The faculty has air-conditioned theatre hall and lecture rooms for classes, as well as computer labs equipped with relevant hard- and soft-wares for practical purposes.

Dedicated and experienced Professors, Associate Professors and Senior Lecturers in business, finance, accounting, marketing, management, economics and etc. are facilitating courses in this program.

  • Fresh undergraduates from STPM, Matriculation, Pra-Universiti, Diploma and equivalents who wish to pursue finance programme
  • Employees from relevant sectors of industries who are determined to develop your human capital and expand your social network for better job performance and prospects.
  • Anybody that is motivated to pursue finance programme to gain knowledge in finance field, and to be able to plan for their own financial goals.

Entry Requirements

For local students, at least CGPA 2.50 Matrikulasi/Asasi or at least CGPA 2.50 STPM with Grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any two (2) subjects (not including Pengajian Am) and

  • Obtained at least Grade C during SPM in Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics subject and
  • Obtained at least Grade E during SPM for the English Language subject and
  • Obtained at least Band 2 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
  • For international students, a minimum IELTS Score of 6.0 or its equivalent (e.g TOEFL-550; TOEFL Computer Test -213; TOEFL Internet Test 80)
  • And Other equivalent qualifications approved by the Senate

The Bachelor of Finance (Hons) programme comprises of multiple courses, all of which amounting to 121 credits.
